Industrial Grade Slider

The Industrial Grade Slider (1500mm/59” travel) is designed with two unique preloaded V-shape ball bearing tracks which assures clearance-free moving accuracy and consistent smoothness during working.

Positive Stops and Smart Trigger Lock

The built-in miter gauge has 7 Positive Stops:

 -60°, -45°, -22.5°, 0°, +22.5°, +45°, and +60°.

The precise angular settings can be achieved with the uniquely designed positive index system consisting of tapered grooves and a spherical locking pin.

The Indexing Pin with the Smart Trigger Lock is released by pressing the front button with one finger. It is fast, accurate and easy!

Laser Etched Vernier Scale

The miter gauge can be manually set to any other angle you desire.

The laser etched vernier scale is a visual aid to take an accurate measurement reading within 0.1 degree, which allows for quick and precision angle adjustments.

Micro-Adjustable Flip Stop

The Flip Stop Assembly slides in a groove on top of the fence and can be locked anywhere you choose. Once locked in place, you can make micro adjustments in 0.001" (0.02mm) increments. All graduations are laser etched.

Comes with COMPASS AH-3T Hold Down

To increase the operational versatility and convenience of the ST-1500 Sliding Table, the ST-1500 comes standard with our newly designed AH-3T Arch Hold Down which is inspired by the ancient wisdom of Arch Building Structures.

Owing to the unique Arch structure, the AH-3T hold down is able to securely clamp the workpiece in place ( with pure vertical pressure) without pressure deformation and overturning moment on the pillar shaft, thus achieving the highest stability.

Applicable for thick workpiece

Applicable for thin workpiece

Due to the AH-3T balancing leg and the Arch's mechanical design, clamping force on the working leg remains balanced without exerting bending moments on the pillar shaft, regardless of the workpiece thickness.

Premium Materials

The materials are basically Stainless Steel, 6061 T-6 Anodized Aluminum Alloy, and Brass.

All parts are designed for heavy duty load, which provides extraordinary strength and rigidity.

All the main parts of the Sliding Table is totally Rust Free.

The Compass ST-1500 Sliding Table with pre-drilled holes is compatible with most of the table saws in the market. The main fit models are as follows:

Harvey--110LG (C300), 110S, 110LC(C200) Sawstop--ICS, PCS, CNS

Grizzly--G0690, G0691, G0899

SHOP FOX--W1819, W1820, W1824

If your table saw is not in the above compatible line, you need to drill the holes on the slider by yourself to fit your table saw.

Set-up a bear but worth it. Calibrate regularly with a big square.

I installed this seven months ago on my new Harvey saw. The saw was already dialed in with blade, miter slots and the BigEye fence all parallel. The saw tabletop was checked for flatness.

In order to align the sliding table so it would slide parallel to the blade I needed shims (0.004” to 0.0015” ; 0.15-.04 mm). That is, the left side of the saw table or the sliding table was manufactured with some skew that needed correction.

In order to keep the fence parallel to the table surface I needed another set of shims (0.002”, 0.05 mm).

This two-plane adjustment required a LOT of trial and error work. Fortunately Amazon had a set of precision stainless steel shims at a very reasonable price. Tape is not hard and stable enough and of course does not come in precise thicknesses.

I usually remove the fence when not in use since it often gets in the way in my limited space. So I need to install and calibrate to 90 degrees whenever I use it. The 0 degree stop mechanism on the gauge does not allow sufficient accuracy or precision, especially not for long panel cuts. I calibrate the fence to right angles with my Big Eye fence (which is reliably calibrated parallel to the blade). I have a steel Kinex DIN 875/1 19 3/4” (500 mm) square ($55 from Taylor Tools) that I use for this. Long side pressed against the fence and when the fence is aligned I can hear and feel a solid thunk when the heavy 13” (330 mm) short side slides against the Big-Eye. (If not aligned perfectly, just one corner of the short side hits the fence and does not thunk). Then tighten the fence handle and the lock screws (CCW). This only takes about a minute now and it’s worth checking before any cut since the fence can go out of square if accidentally bumped hard enough.

I know this is not a cast iron or industrial sliding table, so I don’t mind the setup and regular calibration so long as it cuts well, and it does since there is no slop in the sliding mechanism. I can cut panels with confidence and don’t need a sled.

The flip stops had too much flex in them out of the box. The actual measurement would change even with the wood pressed lightly against the stop. It was easy to figure out how to tighten the hinge to make the stop more usable, but the hinge point is still too narrow for a precision stop. I understand why the flip stop was not manufactured wider at the hinge, but I think Harvey should reconsider that economic decision. The scale is hard for my old eyes to read accurately. I would prefer a window and hairline setup with a scale that is easier to read - like the one on the BigEye. On the plus side, the fine adjustment on the stops is great when trying to creep up on a cut. In fact, the best way I know of to do that.

After a few months of use the sliding mechanism began to screech. I keep my machines clean, so it obviously needed lubrication somewhere, but I didn’t want to spray something all over. I eventually found the right spots to apply paste wax. (Ask Harvey where. They should put this info in the manual).

Awesome Addition to my Sawstop

Installed it on my Sawstop PCS. Kept the extension top on the table and works great for square cuts. Only issue with keeping the extension is the angle for the miter fence doesn’t really work, only really good for 90 degree cuts. The fence is way too far away from the blade to really use for angle cuts. May eventually take the extension out and move the slide closer to the blade like the instructions advise. Did use some 0.05” metal shims on the table to get perfectly aligned. I installed it by myself and was a bit challenging getting it aligned, having some help is a good idea. It is very well made and impressed with the quality. Overall was easy to setup and align. Haven’t cut large panels yet but looking forward to using it for my next project.

A luxury I lived without far too long!

This was the perfect “wingman” for my SawStop!

I had no problem assembling and installing this myself without help. Make sure you get a couple shim stocks (I used .018 x 4 x 9 from Ace Hardware) so that the slide is above your table saw. It still took me several times to get it exact, so make it easy on yourself and get it right.

I have used this everyday and it has made shop life easier. My large panels are effortlessly crosscut with precision! No blade burn or accidental movement throughout the cut.

It is well designed and has an aesthetically appeal. I absolutely love my new Compass and the AH-3T hold down is larger than I expected and that’s a good thing. Harvey did it right!

My only complaint is that the manual doesn’t have any instructions on how to calibrate the flip stops accuracy with the scales. However, I came up with a fail safe way to calibrate it and the repeatability and precision has been maintained ever since.

Excellent

Solid build.
Easy installation.
Only issue was missing nuts for M10 bolts. Not to worry, had some in my shop. Used a 5/8 inch aluminum bar stock shim to avoid having to cut any tubes on my SawStop ICS. Love it. Might be good to include the locking knob from the MG-36 pro miter gauge to secure at dead zero but that is style points.

What an awesome addition to my SawStop. Bolted right into place and setup was easy to follow. I use this daily for cross cuts and miters.
