Dust Problems That Have Never Been Solved

In a woodworking shop, wood dust is always a big problem for woodworkers. Flying dust particles can severely harm not only the health of operators but also the environment. In past decades, woodworkers mostly used traditional dust collectors, such as bag collectors, or cyclone collectors. However, all of these existing collectors have never really solved the problems, instead, they created more issues:

- Very High Noise Levels (95-100dbA) – constantly damages operators’ ears.

- Difficult Maintenance – filters are easily clogged by dust and need be cleaned frequently.

- Bulky Structure – it occupies a very large space in a woodworking shop.

- Large Power Consumption – normally requires 3-5HP with expensive operating costs.

Traditional Cyclone Dust Collectors

Cyclone dust collectors separate dusts by gravity (see diagram above). As gravity is not strong enough to push down small particles, only heavy dusts drop to dust tank. Up to 40% small dust particles are pushed up to filters which will be easily blocked, causing that the sucking static pressure drops rapidly. In addition, the dusty air flows in the cyclone and creates very large noise/vibration and energy consumption. All these problems have never been solved until now.

Gyro Air® Technology

High Efficiency

The Gyro Air® Dust Processor technology has revolutionized dust collecting. It was designed with Harvey’s invention of Axial Centrifugation Technology (or called Gyro Air® Technology) which is completely different than any existing dust collector on the market. The Gyro Air® Technology spins the flowing dust stream at high speeds (over 4000 rpm), which generates a significant centrifugal force on dust particles (over 100g) causing them to be pushed away from the air flow center and depositing them into dust tanks. The clean air remains in the chambers and any remaining fine particles are collected in the air filters.

Double Cone

Separation Chamber

Slowing down large particlesfor gravitational Drop.

Axial Centrifugation Separation Chamber (Gyro Air®)

Dust particle stream is pushed into special aerodynamic channels, generating high speed spinning.

Preliminary Separation

Heavier dust particles dropinto the tank by gravity.

Secondary Gyro Air Separation

99.7% small dust particles are separated by strong centrifugal force and pushed into dust tank.

With the new Axial Centrifugation Technology (called GYRO AIR® Technology), the G-700 can collect 99.7% of the dust particles before the air reaches its filters, which means much less cleaning of the filters without any clogging.

Energy Savings

Benefiting from the GYRO AIR® Technology and the VFD speed control system, the entire extraction system is aerodynamically optimized with extraordinary running efficiency, so it can save up to 50% in energy costs.

Quiet

The GYRO AIR® technology and its unique aerodynamic design allow the G-700 GRYO AIR® to run at an incredibly low noise level of 61 to 72 dB(A).

Extremely Clean

Emission

The air emission cleanliness level from the filters can reach an unbeatable 0.05 mg/m³ (50% better than the European Standard of 0.1 mg/m³).

Convenient

tool-less

dust tank cleaning

The two dust bins are sealed when in use but are then easily accessed through a panel on the side of the unit, and they roll out for easy emptying (and you can use disposal bags to take out wood chips).

What should I do if the motor overheats?

If the motor overheats, reduce the load on the motor and ensure air circulation through the motor is not restricted. Clean the motor fan with compressed air to restore normal air circulation. Verify the machine is positioned at least 0.5 meter from walls for proper heat dissipation.

Product Comparison

How does the GYRO AIR G-700 Dust Processor compare to traditional bag dust collectors?

Traditional bag collectors struggle with filter clogging and poor air quality because all dust passes directly through the filters. The GYRO AIR G-700 Dust Processor separates 99.9% of dust before it reaches the filters using GYRO AIR technology, resulting in consistent airflow, less filter maintenance, and cleaner air emission of 0.05 mg/m³.

How does the GYRO AIR G-700 Dust Processor compare to cyclone dust collectors?

Cyclone collectors rely on gravity to separate dust, achieving only about 60% separation efficiency. Up to 40% of small particles still reach and clog the filters. The GYRO AIR G-700 Dust Processor uses centrifugal force over 100 times gravity to achieve 99.9% separation before the filters, dramatically reducing clogging and maintaining consistent suction.

Is the GYRO AIR G-700 Dust Processor quieter than other dust collectors?

Yes. Most traditional dust collectors are very loud due to air turbulence in cyclones and bag systems. The GYRO AIR G-700 Dust Processor operates at only 61-72 dBA depending on speed setting, which is comparable to normal conversation. This is achieved through aerodynamic optimization and the enclosed housing design.

How does the GYRO AIR G-700 Dust Processor filter quality compare to other dust collectors?

The GYRO AIR G-700 Dust Processor achieves an air emission cleanliness level of 0.05 mg/m³, which is 50% better than the European Standard of 0.1 mg/m³. Traditional collectors often struggle to meet even basic air quality standards because their filters become clogged quickly.

Does the GYRO AIR G-700 Dust Processor use less energy than traditional dust collectors?

Yes. The aerodynamically optimized design combined with GYRO AIR technology and VFD speed control allows the GYRO AIR G-700 Dust Processor to save up to 50% in energy costs compared to traditional dust collectors running at similar performance levels.

How does the dust bin capacity of the GYRO AIR G-700 Dust Processor compare to other units?

The GYRO AIR G-700 Dust Processor features a 32-gallon (120 liter) dust bin capacity with two internal bins. Unlike traditional collectors where you deal with messy bags, the GYRO AIR G-700 Dust Processor bins roll out easily through the front panel for clean emptying, and optional disposable liners are available.

Can the GYRO AIR G-700 Dust Processor connect to as many machines as other dust collectors?

The GYRO AIR G-700 Dust Processor is designed to collect dust from one or two machines simultaneously using the 6-inch main inlet or dual 4-inch adapter inlets with blast gates. This is comparable to most single-stage collectors but with far superior separation efficiency and air quality.

Safety

Can I use the GYRO AIR G-700 Dust Processor to collect materials other than wood dust?

No. The GYRO AIR G-700 Dust Processor is designed only for wood chips and dust collection. Do NOT use it to collect liquids, poisonous gases, explosive materials, viscous substances, or any other potentially dangerous materials. Using it for unintended materials may cause fire, explosion, or damage to the machine.

Why is grounding important and how do I properly ground the system?

Grounding is critical for two reasons: electrical safety and static electricity prevention. The machine must be grounded to reduce electric shock risk. Additionally, plastic dust hoses generate static electricity as dust passes through them, which can cause sparks and potentially fire or explosion. Ground all plastic dust lines by connecting the spiral copper or iron wire on the hose to the set screws on the dust port.

What personal protective equipment should I wear when operating the GYRO AIR G-700 Dust Processor?

Always wear safety glasses or a face shield to protect against flying particles. Wear a NIOSH-approved respirator as wood dust may cause cancer, birth defects, or respiratory damage. Always impressed

So I finally got around to getting both, my new G700 Dust Processor, and my 52” Big Eye installed. I had to call and get a couple small hardware parts that my Big Eye didn’t have. Errors are inevitable, they’re going to happen. Wish I could have gotten the order sent to me a little sooner, as I just waited to install it longer, till I had all the hardware it was supposed to have. But, Harvey was extremely pleasant to talk with and made sure to make things right. Customer service is always amazing. I value this in a company about as much as the product they sell. Harvey continues to get my highest recommendations in both of those categories. I’ve been recommending them to everyone I know for years. I just wish they had a couple more locations. One in the Midwest and one on the east coast. Then, maybe I could just pick up my orders. However, one location does keep everything close in a manner of maintaining quality control, so I can understand if that’s a factor. Keep it up Harvey. You’re top notch in my shop. As always, please make a planer/jointer combo (Like the Hammer A-26 by Felder Group). Oh yeah, the dust processor-awesome. Just can’t figure why y’all put that power switch on the back-WHY? Either way, it’s still an amazing machine. Quieter than my Ridge shop vac by far.

This thing SUCKS! (Thank God).

I just got my new G700 connected to the machines and couldn’t be happier! I up graded from a collector using 110 volts to the 700 & I’m guessing my sucking capacity went up by, at least double to maybe, three times my old one.
When researching the 700, the Harvey customer service was more than excellent. The Tech dept. spent considerable time preparing an analysis of what my shop needed. I can’t remember getting service from a company like I had. Impressive. I figured, with personnel this good their product had to be sound. And it is!
