Best woodworking tool I have ever purchased both in both in utility and workmanship
I must say, the price seemed rather high when you consider that you can purchase or even make "feather boards" for much less money. However, I saw it on sale so I took the leap and I am so glad I did. In retrospect, I now see this tool as essential and I wouldn't want to be without it.
It proved itself for me just yesterday when I had to rip 14' long pieces of white oak for a faux beam. With a board that long since you have to stand so far away from the saw to start the cut, it's very difficult to get and keep the material against the fence and get a perfect edge. The Compass RG-1 made it simple. It presses the material against the fence and helps keep it there so you don't have to work so hard to "guide" the material between the blade and the fence. The cuts turned out excellent. I'm a huge fan and I highly recommend it!
What a beautifully built product! Havenโt put it thought itโs paces yet but just from holding in my hand I can tell it will do itโs job well. Thanks for another well built tool.
A real help when resawing. Also, customer service staff were great to work with!
Maybe be expensive but well worth the money. Easy to setup and holds boards tight to the fence
Beautiful. I was surprised at just how big the RG-2 is. Looks like Iโll be ordering an RG-1 for those smaller projects!
This tool is quite versatile, works very well on my bandsaw AND tablesaw! It's a great addition to the bandsaw and I'm very surprised it's included for free.
Great product
I own both the RG-1 and RG-2. Both guides are extremely will built and extremely durable. Both guides work perfectly. Almost eliminate the need for feather boards.
I had a QC problem with the recently purchased RG-2 and the problem was resolved quickly. The screws were not square to the miter bar on the RG-2. This caused them to bind on the body of the RG-2 making it difficult to make minor adjustments for stock thickness. Harvey quickly sent a new miter bar with screws. Problem fixed!
OK, haven't had a chance to use it yet due to travel. But I have to comment on the quality which seems absolutely superb.
